In the world outside of video games, there are products that are trusted more than others because of their names. A lot of people prefer these trusted name brand product such as Coca-Cola. Would you rather drink Coca-Cola, or a generic cola like Dominick's Cola? A lot of other people say that it doesn't really matter, I mean, they're all the same thing right? Not always. This name brand vs. generic argument can also have a part in video games, because of how many games gamers trust more than others. So this is the first of the series of these games, which will be about God of War.

God of War has always been looked upon as ‘the innovator of action games', and because of so, every time there is a new game in the series people trust that it'll be good. So because it's so innovative, it's always going to be the best of the best right? This is where the ‘it shouldn't matter' comes into play. There are many games that are like, or maybe even better than the God of War games.

Games such as Bayonetta.

Now I haven't played the game very much, well, all I did was played the demo, so I wouldn't say I am the most experience person when it comes to Bayonetta.  My limited experience with Bayonetta does not stop the fact that I can tell the similarities, and difference of God of War and it. It has a similar kind of fighting mechanics, which means it is also a button masher.

Although I didn't play it much, I did actually follow it a lot. I know a little about the characters, and they actually seem like well developed characters. I've always thought that the God of War characters were just awful, the story is fine, but the acting in it has always disgusted me. In Bayonetta you can get actual emotions from the story, so that's probably a way you can say this non-stop climax action is better than God of War.

Bayonetta has gotten a lot of heat from the general public because of how similar it is to God of War, calling it such things as plagiarism, and rip-off. Then again why isn't God of War a rip-off of the game Devil May Cry? It is very similar to God of War, but what is this? It came out before it? Woah. I'm not saying that God of War is a rip-off of the game, but it's just not good to rip on Bayonetta when God of War was also inspired by other games.

Another game that gets ripped on for being similar to God of War is Dante's Inferno. Dante's Inferno is very, very similar to God of War. It is very similar in its gameplay, very similar in its story, very similar in its acting. It's a very similar game to God of War. Overall, it's the Christian version of God of War. But that doesn't mean Visceral didn't have the right to make it. It's still a very fun game.

God of War is probably the series that has spawned the most games that use a lot of the same elements as God of War, or is it the other way around? If you're tired of God of War because of its lousy acting, yet love the gameplay and such, why not give these other games a try. It'll be worth it.
