With Memorial Day comes the unofficial start of summer. The Game Guys have suggestions of some of the best video game summer releases to beat the heat with.
- Backbreaker (PS3, Xbox 360 - June 1) Backbreaker might not have NFL licensing, but it's the biggest competition EA's Madden has had in years.
- Tetris Party Deluxe (Wii, DS - June 1) This latest version of the original Tetris video game features six new play modes, including multiplayer.
- Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii - June 8) This long-standing pro-golf game now includes the Ryder Cup Challenge on the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.
- Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP - June 8) An action-stealth game, Peace Walker is the first PSP game legendary game producer Hideo Kojima has ever fully produced.
- Green Day Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii - June 8) The game includes 47 Green Day tracks with three-part vocals.
- Persona 3 Portable (PSP - July 6) Publisher Atlus USA remakes their popular PS2 RPG title for the PSP.
- Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels Starry Sky (DS - July 11) The next edition of the long-standing Dragon Quest series, which as been going strong since the 1980's.
- NCAA Football 11 (PS3, PS2, Xbox 360 - July 13) Even though the game only features Division 1 FBS teams (apologies to Sacramento State, UC Davis, and the rest), NCAA Football 11 is still a terrific football video game.
- StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty (PC/Mac - July 27) The game that PC gamers have been waiting for since the late 1990's, the sequel to Blizzards masterpiece real-time strategy game Starcraft finally hits the market.
- Madden 11 (PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii - August 10) Featuring New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees on the cover, Madden 11 is the next edition of only current video game series to cover the official NFL licence.
Keep in mind that the above games are only ten of the many titles being released over the next three months and new games are being seemingly announced every week.
